Know and Tell Friday

Here are my answers to this weeks questions:

  • Question 1 In the spirit of Christmas... Artificial or Real Christmas Tree?
Well we don't celebrate Christmas any more. A few years ago we realize the amount of unnecessary stress and pressure we felt from others and what we were putting on ourselves to buy things for others and put up decorations, etc... Financially it was too much stress and emotionally it was draining and I can't imagine what it was doing to us physically. However, we have been so happy and so much at peace since we stopped celebrating Christmas. We realize that it wasn't something that we needed to do in order to please God. God has not told us to celebrate Christmas and the truth be told. Jesus was not born on December 25th. As a matter of fact He was not born during the winter season. He was born sometime during spring or summer. Anyway, that is our personal convictions and we have found that to be the conviction of others whom we have spoken to more recently. Personally during this time I just want the presence of the Holy Spirit to be with me in a very significant way, I like to reflect upon His goodness to me and all that He has done for me and has brought me through this year and the previous years and just give Him thanks. I also like to look forward to the New Year and what He may be saying to me for the coming year.
  • Question 2 If your life was a TV show...what would the title be?
"My Journey Through Faith" I think that title would sum up where I have been, where I am now and where I am going. Our lives as Christians is all through faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the Word of God. God told us that without faith it is impossible to please Him and those who come to Him must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
  • Question 3 When you go to the movies what do you get from the Concession Stand?
I usually get buttered popcorn and sprite or fruit punch. Lately I have been getting the nachos with cheese. They are pretty good when they are warm.
  • Question 4 Cosmetic that you cannot live without?
I can live without cosmetics and have in the past and present. However, every now and then I like to put on some black eyeliner, a little powder foundation, lipstick, eye shadow, and a little blush (Mary Kay products are the best in my opinion). It's fun! It is definitely something that I can live without. I like to keep it simple and not fuss over things that are minor. I have come to find out that is where a lot of unnecessary stress comes from, a lot of wasted energy and time.
  • Bonus Question (gotta think about this one...)If you could go back in time to a pivotal point in your young life and give yourself one word of advice, and it would be guaranteed that you would follow the advice... What would you tell yourself... ( It is OK if you tell more than one thing :)
Without thinking twice about it-- I must say that it would be to never have sex before marriage. Not to be in a hurry to give that most precious and special part of myself without being married. Not to be in a hurry to grow up and just enjoy my life one day at a time. Enjoy being a teen and a young adult. Not to be in hurry to accomplish the next big goal. Another very important thing I would advise myself to do is to be myself and not to want to try and please everyone else all the time ( not to be a people pleaser). AMEN!!!
