Bitter Vs. Better!

Don’t Be Bitter, Be Better!

Bitter people are cold; Better people are warm!

Bitter people are mean; Better people are kind!

Bitter people are hateful; Better people are forgiving!

Bitter people are angry; Better people are loving!

Bitter people are selfish; Better people are selfless!

Bitter people are sarcastic; Better people are encouraging!

Bitter people are harsh; Better people are gentle!

Bitter people are miserable; Better people are happy!

Bitter people are regretful; Better people are hopeful!

Bitter people are pessimistic; Better people are optimistic!

Bitter people are spiteful /vindictive; Better people are merciful!

Bitter people are prideful; Better people are humble!

Bitter people stay the same; Better people are always growing/changing!

Bitter people tear down; Better people build up!

Bitter people give up easily; Better people endure!

Bitter people focus on what is seen; Better people trust in the unseen!

Bitter people are offended; Better people are grateful!

Bitter people are deceitful; Better people are genuine!

Bitter people are hardhearted; Better people are compassionate!

So much more can be added to this list but I will stop right there with this scripture:

(1 Peter 4:8)
And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "LOVE WILL COVER A MULTITUDE OF SINS."

On My Mind!

The following poem has been on my mind lately.

I can definitely relate to the words that the author wrote. The words that have been standing out the most is I Rise and it's a reminder to me that no matter what I may go through it is only going to cause me to be better so much better because Greater is He who lives in me than he who lives in the world. I don't need to be afraid or dismayed but know that what the devil meant for evil God is working ALL together for GOOD. My name is VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still I Rise

You may write me down in history

With your bitter, twisted lies,

You may trod me in the very dirt

But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?

Why are you beset with gloom?

'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells

Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,

With the certainty of tides,

Just like hopes springing high,

Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?

Bowed head and lowered eyes?

Shoulders falling down like teardrops.

Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?

Don't you take it awful hard

'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines

Diggin' in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,

You may cut me with your eyes,

You may kill me with your hatefulness,

But still, like air, I'll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?

Does it come as a surprise

That I dance like I've got diamonds

At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history's shame

I rise

Up from a past that's rooted in pain

I rise

I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,

Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.

Leaving behind nights of terror and fear

I rise

Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear

I rise

Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,

I am the dream and the hope of the slave.

I rise

I rise

I rise.

God Is Good!!!

Life is filled with ups and downs but one thing still remains the same -- God is Good!

Life can be filled with so much pain but we can be assured that joy comes in the morning!

Life can be strange sometimes but we know that all things work together for good!

Life can be bitter sometimes but we know that God is sweeter than the honey comb!

Life can throw you curve balls sometimes but we know that God remains the same -- He never changes!

Life can seem confusing at times but we know that God is not the Author of confusion and He who began a good work in you will continue to perform it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Life can seem too difficult to live at times but we know that His yoke is easy and His burdens are light.

Life can make you want to give up sometimes but we know that we shall live and not die and declare the works of the Lord and he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty God.

I Like These C.S. Lewis Quotes!

1) “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks to us in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: It is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world”

2)"A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell."

3) "I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else."

4) "If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning: just as, if there were no light in the universe and therefore no creatures with eyes, we should never know it was dark. Dark would be without meaning."

5) " If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair."

6) "If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this."

7) “There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, "Thy will be done," and those to whom God says, "All right, then, have it your way”

8) “To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.”

9)~ You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream. ~

10) “Love is not affectionate feeling, but a steady wish for the loved person's ultimate good as far as it can be obtained”

11) “Though our feelings come and go, God’s love for us does not.”

12)~ Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You, too? Thought I was the only one." ~

13)~ You cannot go on 'explaining away' for ever: you will find that you have explained explanation itself away. You cannot go on 'seeing through' things for ever. The whole point of seeing through something is to see something through it. ~

14)~ When we lose one blessing, another is often, most unexpectedly, given in its place. ~

15)~ God, who foresaw your tribulation, has specially armed you to go through it, not without pain but without stain ~

16) ~ Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in order to move forward. ~

17) ~ Faith is the art of holding on to things your reason has once accepted in spite of your changing moods

18) ~ I have learned now that while those who speak about one’s miseries usually hurt, those who keep silence hurt more. ~

19) "Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it."

20) " Are not all lifelong friendships born at the moment when at last you meet another human being who has some inkling of that something which you were born desiring, and which, beneath the flux of other desires and in all the momentary silences between the louder passions, night and day, year by year, from childhood to old age, you are looking for, watching for, listening for?"

A Challenge In My Thinking Is Changing My Perspective!

Have you ever set standard(s) for yourself that you thought were easy to attain and anyone should be able to live up to them but then you found out that not even you can live up to your own standard(s)?

What do you do?

Do you allow truth to come in so you can see the error of your ways and apply truth to correct it or lie to yourself and stay in a state of deception.

My point here is not so much that it's wrong to have standards but where did they come from? Are they coming from God, His Word, and His principles. Or are they standards born out of shame, guilt, hurt, and pain. If it's the latter then your standards will always reproduce what it was birth from i.e. hurt, pain, death, guilt, shame, etc... If it's the former then it will bring forth life, health, liberty, peace, joy, happiness and all things good. Don't be a victim! Be a Victor and an Overcomer!!!

The Word is always True:

Isaiah 55:8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD.

Isaiah 55:9 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Psalms 40:5 Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works Which You have done; And Your thoughts toward us Cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered.
