The Word of God

All of us long to hear a good word - a word of comfort, a word of encouragement, a word of love. We bloom in the environment of positive words, while harsh words cause us to shrivel. Sometimes we say we are tired of words, when in fact we are tired of empty words, of broken words. We long for a life-giving word that will not fail.   FROM THE BOOK God is not a man, that he should lie. He is not a human, that he should change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? Number 23:19, page 172 The word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are. Hebrews 4:12, page 1210 The grass withers, and the flowers fade beneath the breath of the Lord. And so it is with people. The grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever. Isaiah 40:7-8, page 713   GOD'S PROMISE Keep on asking, and you will be g

Success or Failure?

THE POWER OF HABIT I am your constant companion. I am your greatest helper or your heaviest burden. I will push you onward or drag you down to failure. I am completely at your command. Half the things you do you might as well turn over to me, And I will be able to do them quickly and correctly. I am easily managed; you must merely be firm with me. Show me exactly how you want something done, And after a few lessons I will do it automatically. I am the servant of all great individuals And, alas, of all failures as well. Those who are great I have made great Those who are failures I have made failures. I am not a machine, Though I work with all the precision of a machine Plus the intelligence of a human being. You may run me for profit or run me for ruin; It makes no difference to me. Take me, train me, be firm with me, And I will put the world at your feet Be easy with me, and I will destroy you. Who am I? I am habit! Author Unknown

Doing What’s Right

Everyone who is a child of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world-our faith. ~1John 5:4~   You get impatient with your own life trying to master a habit or control a sin and in your frustration begin to wonder where the power of God is. Be patient. God is using today's difficulties to strengthen you for tomorrow. He is equipping you. The God who makes things grow will help you bear fruit. Dwell on the fact that God lives within you. Think about the power that gives you life. The realization that God is dwelling within you may change the places you want to go and the things you want to do today. Do what is right this week, whatever it is, whatever comes down the path, whatever problems and dilemmas you face-just do what's right. Maybe no one else is doing what's right, but you do what's right. You be honest. You take a stand. You be true. After all, regardless of what you do, God does what is right: he saves you with His grac

Please Be Patient with Me.

Please Be Patient with Me When you don't feel My presence, don't feel you have done something wrong. Why are you feeling as though you are not going forward in your walk with Me? Those thoughts are not from Me, let them go. The enemy wants you to think that. He wants you to doubt you ever heard My voice. Know that I am allowing you this time to rest in Me while I prepare your body for the next mission. Don't worry that you aren't kept busy all the time. You must know that you are with Me and I am with you. The life that you are living is being smiled upon. Take this time to pray with Me, to worship me, to learn of Me, to come and sit at My feet. Please be patient with me While you wait in silence, or what you think is silence, is My chance to give you new life. Some things take time for Me to show my children. Some things My children won't be afraid of. If I gave you what you are asking for on your time, you wouldn't be ready to receive it. Remember, all things

Godless Living

Their thinking became useless. Their foolish minds were filled with darkness. They said they were wise, but they became fools. Romans 1:21-22   Since the hedonist ( Definition: 1. the doctrine that pleasure or happiness is the highest good. 2. Devotion to pleasure and self-gratification as a way of life .) has never seen the hand who made the universe, he or she assumes there is no life beyond the here and now. He or She believes there is no truth beyond this room. No purpose beyond his own pleasure. No divine factor. He has no concern for the eternal… The hedonist says, "Who cares? I may be bad, but so what? What I do is my business." He's more concerned about satisfying his passions than in knowing the Father. His life is so desperate for pleasure that he has no time or room for God. Is he right? Is it OK to spend our days thumbing our noses at God and living it up? Paul says, "Absolutely not!" According to Romans 1, we lose more than stained
