Pressing on to Know the Lord

Pressing on to Know the Lord Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do , forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead , I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. ( Phi_3:13-14 ) We have noted that humility is one of the relational realities that God wants to develop in our lives so we can live daily by the grace of God. " God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble " ( Jam_4:6 ). Here we see evidence of the godly humility that had developed in the Apostle Paul through the years. " Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended ." When these words were written, Paul had been walking with the Lord for 25 to 30 years. Yet, he admits that he had not "fully arrived." He confesses that he did not know the Lord so completely that his entire life was a demonstration of resurrection living. Consequently, he had one g...

Can God Be Trusted?

"You ever wonder why some little children, or faithful followers of Jesus end up experiencing disease, crisis, and other terrible things. Is God fair? Can we trust God? " ~Pastor Bradwell~ The above quote and title of this post was posed by Pastor Thomas Bradwell whom I met many years ago... I thought it was a very good question and it is one that many many people have asked over and over again. I replied to the above statement and question below. I just wanted to share and hope and pray it blesses and encourages others. I hope it gives insight to those who are in need. My Response: Yes, I have wondered about the same exact things. Romans 8:28 - "And we know all things work together for good, to them that love God and are the called according to His purpose." 3. Study the life of Job 4. Focus on Jesus - He endured alot for us. The Word tells us that in this world we will have tribulations bu...

Words of Comfort...

Image
Over the past several days I have been thinking, meditating, praying and reading. I thank God for the following blogs that I read and have helped to bring my thoughts into words and bring clarity to things. I thank God for the people of God who truly love Him and are dedicated to Him and His Word. We are not ashamed of the gospel or HIS name. We will continue to be steadfast, immovable, and always abounding in the work of the LORD knowing that our labor is not in vain. He is coming soon and we must be prepared. We must continue to fight the good fight of faith, and continue to press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. We can trust God because He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is a good God and His mercy endures forever. Great is thy faithfulness oh Lord our God!!!
